BidMe ("we", "us", "our") operates the BidMe mobile application and the website at bidme.info — an online auction marketplace for users in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using BidMe you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: your first and last name, username, phone number, and city.
Profile photo (optional).
Listings you create: product photos, short video clips, titles, descriptions, prices, and category/city.
Activity: bids you place, purchases, items you save (wishlist), and ratings/reviews you give or receive.
Technical data: a push-notification token (for alerts), app version, device type, and basic usage/diagnostic information.
2. How We Use Your Information
Operate the marketplace — show listings, process bids and "Buy Now" purchases.
Review and approve seller accounts to keep the platform safe.
Send notifications about your bids, auctions you follow, and wins.
Connect a winning buyer and a seller so they can complete a sale.
Provide customer support and respond to reports.
Improve the app and comply with applicable laws.
3. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only as needed to run the service:
With other users: your public listing details (product, seller display name, city, ratings) are visible to other users. When an auction is won or an item is bought, the buyer and seller share contact details (phone number) to complete the transaction.
Service providers: secure hosting (Bluehost) and push-notification delivery (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging).
Legal: when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
4. Camera & Photos
With your permission, BidMe uses your camera and photo library so you can upload product photos and video clips for your listings. These are used only for the purposes described above.
5. Data Retention
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.
6. Deleting Your Account & Data
You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time:
In the app: Account → Delete Account (submit the request; an admin reviews and removes your data), or
Once approved, your personal data (profile, listings, and account record) is removed from our active systems.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (including HTTPS encryption) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
8. Children
BidMe is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
